Wednesday marked the day in which the NBA Champions and 6thman, Lamar Odom resumed contact, according to the Los Angeles Times. This comes a week after the Los Angeles Lakers pulled their or

Pau Gasol, Lamar Odom, Trevor Arriza were consistently big time support throughout the playoffs and finals.

Otherwise, opt for Trevor Ariza.
NBA Finals play-by-play announcer Mike Breen posed the question during Game 4 against Orlando on Thursday night: Which of the Lakers' free agents should be the higher priority in the offseason? Ariza or the Candy Man?

Lamar Odom's offense in the fourth quarter was a huge reason the Los Angeles Lakers escaped in overtime of the NBA Finals' Game 2.
Odom also was the reason they didn't put the game away a lot sooner.

Lamar Odom's play has been non-existent for a 7-foot (or 6-foot-10 or whatever he is on that given night) player on the interior. He's not rebounding or playing much defense, either. He's provided zero inside presence (where at least Bynum has been a threat).

If Kobe's Lakers are going to utilize home-court advantage and take this 2-2 series, Lamar Odom's going to have to step it up, dawg. You can't just score 7.5 points a game against Denver. They aren't the Clippers. Also, learn to box out. CHRIS ANDERSON SHOULDN'T HAVE MORE UPS THAN YOU. As someone who watched last night's humiliation, I can safely say the only thing more embarrassing to watch than Anderson jamming home the tip-in on a missed shot was his lamer version of TO's eagle routine, shouting a "wooooot" bird call to Denver's lame bird-loving fans as he ran backcourt. That, to me, was the epitomy of the bench differential. Denver's reserves are whooping Los Angeles'. Where's the depth? James Posey was a HUGE reason the Celtics won it all last year. At least their bench showed up.

Lamar Odom’s game is as volatile as the New York Stock Market. Sometimes it is way up, and sometimes it is way down.
When the Los Angeles Lakers season tipped off, the Odom Meter was running low as all eyes were on Pau Gasol and Andrew Bynum. The casual fan and longtime basketball experts were curious to know whether the two 7-footers can co-exist when paired in the post in Phil Jackson’s triangle offense. That meant Odom was relegated to the bench, a move he openly accepted but with some reluctance. Trade rumors started flying around Staples Center.

(Note: I've published this post on another blog of mine, here.)
Did you see these two teams yesterday? I don't think I've ever been more impressed by a pair of NBA teams on the same day. The Celtics absolutely dismantled a respectable Dallas Mavericks' team, and the Lakers shamed the once-mighty San Antonio Spurs. Everything was clicking for both the Celtics and Lakers, and yet it's not as if this was a one-time deal.

Lamar Odom surprised with back-to-back 3-pt. shots in the final quarter.
Andrew Bynum contributed key blocked shots in the game and 9 pts., making his presence felt, especially on D, making it clear he was a key missing factor in last year's Finals meltdown.

Coach Phil Jackson has experimented with bringing Lamar Odom off the bench, as the preseason has gone on, this looks more like a permanent move for Odom. This strengthens the bench and gives them another playmaker coming off the sideline. Backup point guard Jordan Farmar just continues to get better, as does swingman Trevor Ariza.

After watching the Lakers get ransacked, raped, humiliated and emabarassed in the NBA Finals, Los Angeles Laker fans were left to ponder one thing this offseason....
Whats next?
The Lakers have been flirting with the idea of trading for Ron Artest for the past few weeks and the name I hear thrown around a lot is Lamar. After Lamar refused to show up in the NBA Finals Laker fans were simply fustarted with Lamar, including myself. Lamar has always been hammered for his inconsistency, but this year was by far his best all around year. Lamar had his best numbers as a Laker this year and it seemed as if he got better once Pau arrived. Before the Finals started I thought Lamar would be the Lakers key factor but it turned out he laid an egg and left Kobe and Pau out to dry. So the questions remians. Do you leave Lamar out to dry becase of one poor series or is thier another move to be made?

Advantage: Paul Pierce
Power Forward ( Lamar Odom vs. Kevin Garnet) The Lakers need Odom to step up this series if they want to win the championship. When Odom plays well, its almost a given that the Lakers will win. I’m pretty sure he will not be guarding Kevin Garnet. Garnet has been waiting to get this deep in the playoffs and have an opportunity to play for a ring forever. The Big Ticket has finally flown to his destination. No matter who is guarding Garnet, I expect to see someone I have never seen before. I know Garnet will be playing the hardest we have ever seen him play. I am looking forward to it.

Or so we think! Although I'm hoping that Pau, LO, Fish and company pull it off tonight--the Nuggets are a house divided--it wouldn't be all that bad if they lost... They can easily finish the Nuggets off at home in Game 5! And with the way Luke Walton is playing! He just adds something to the equation, something that the Lakers have sorely missed from Luke. But here's my real concern...

I really couldn't have asked for more from the two game mini-series with the Warriors. Being as all three of our real centers are hurt we were forced to play small ball with them both games. Obviously this led to very exciting matchups. Here are a few of my observations:Lamar Is a Beast: If only he could play the Warriors or Suns every day. Being clearly the most talented big man on the court Lamar owned the Warriors. Posting back to back 20 rebound games was amazing, as was playing all 53 minutes of game two. Don't forget how well he played aginst Amare during both of our post-season matchups. It will be interesting to see how they play against each other if we meet them in the playoffs this year. It is becoming ever less likely that Lamar, Bynum, and Gasol will all be on the same court this year so it will be necessary for Lamar to keep up this effort with Gasol back as Gasol lacks and strong inside force.
