Who am I?

I'm just a guy who loves his sports. I coach high school baseball as well as little league. Every sunday during football season I rarely leave the house. I am a Southern California native and I've been life long fans of the St. Louis Rams, Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, and USC teams respectively.

Goodbye Red Sox posted on 10/21/2008

My prayers have been answered.  The Boston Red Sox are not in the World Series.  I cannot tell you how happy I am that they lost to the Rays.  I am sick of the Sox fan.  You've had 5 years of winning and 86 years of losing, and you've become more annoying than the Yankee fan.  At least the Yankees have a real tradition of winning.  Show some humility and admit that the Rays were the better team.  It was great to see the Rays win game 7.  They really deserved it.  Aside from the collapse in game 5 they really played great baseball.  Hitting, pitching, and defense were all there. The worst to first season continues into the World Series.

I really have to admit that mid season I thought the Rays would falter and perhaps not make the playoffs.  Now I feel that they have a great shot at winning the title.  I don't feel that the Philadelphia Phillies have enough to beat Tampa.  I think that the Rays have really come together at the right time, and have more balance in every aspect than do the Phillies.  Regardless of who wins, I just have to say that ,thank God it won't be the Red Sox.

A Little Bit Of H-Evan posted on 10/02/2008

Well it seems as though the "Devil" in Devil Rays has officially been exorcised.  The Rays win their first playoff game in franchise history on the shoulders of rookie Evan Longoria.  Those who do not watch baseball would probably think that Longoria was a seasoned veteran by the looks of him.  He looked very comfortable as he tagged a homerun in each of his first two at-bats.  It seemed to me that the Rays were the more relaxed and more fired up team.  In defense of the White Sox, the Rays players were sitting at home resting, while Chicago was playing their butts off just to get into the playoffs.  But I've gotta say that Tampa looked as good as any other team in the playoffs.  They were hitting the ball, looked sharp defensively, and had good pitching.  Their bullpen did a great job in getting out of a bases loaded jam in the 7th inning, and other than one bad inning, the Sox bats were shut down.  My only question is, where did all of the Rays' "fans" come from?  I know they weren't going to games during the regular season.  I guess they didn't want to jump on the band wagon until this first playoff game.

Brewers Hot, Mets Not! posted on 09/26/2008
Suddenly it seems as though the Mets won't make the postseason yet again.  After winning again the Brewers now find themselves in the driver's seat and the Mets are on the outside looking in.  New York is now down 1 game in the wild card with 2 games left to play.  Although it's not a major collapse as it was last year, the Mets players have got to be saying "oh great, not again".  Everyone seemed to think that the Mets would be in the playoffs and not the Brewers, but Milwaukee will not go down without a fight.  Friday's game against the Marlins saw the Mets use 8, yes I said 8 different pitchers.  Aside from Johan Santana, who will be pitching Saturday's game on 3 days rest, no one else on that pitching staff can be counted on to go deep into a gam

Unhappy Campers posted on 09/26/2008
It seems as if losing is not the only problem the rams have right now.  The benching of Marc Bulger has caused quite a stir amongst the team.  Steven Jackson was quoted as saying that it was, "the wrong decision" regarding having Bulger put on the bench.  Bulger has yet to comment on his current situation, but sources say that he no longer wants to play for Scott Linehan.  With all the desperation moves Linehan is making this week, even if the Rams somehow pull off a victory this week, has he dug himself too deep of a hole to climb out of?

Rams fall to 0-3 posted on 09/23/2008

I still refuse to believe that the rams are as bad as they seem.  This week they fell to the seahawks, who are decimated by injury.  They have a bunch of no name receivers, a rookie tight end, and have a running back by committee.  This defense really has to look in the mirror and figure out what the heck they're doing.  They are getting beat time and again, and have given up 35+ points in each of it's first 3 games.  Something has got to happen.  I think it's time to start looking for another defensive coordinator.

On the other side of the ball Marc Bulger is being replaced by Trent Green for week 4.  I'm not sure how much this is going to help unless the offense can score 40+ points.  I understand that Bulger has underachieved so far this year, but it's fair to say that the only way your going to win is if the defense can hold down the other team to at least 20 points or under.  The Rams do have the offensive weapons with Stephen Jackson, Torry Holt, and even Randy McMichael, but they need that number 2 receiver to step up.  The Rams do have talent on both sides of the ball unlike some other "bad" teams.  Scott Linehan should be very worried and  I say if they get run over again next week, then he needs to get out of St Louis.
