Here is my disclaimer, I am a Lakers fan, and yes I am a Kobe fan, and yes I am a homer. There I said it and this only reinforces what I have to say. What does Kobe Bryant have to do to get some love? I mean seriously? He dislocates his finger and doesn't miss a play. Toughness check, in comparison to Lebron who is it utter pain at least 5 times a game. Judging from his body language you would think he got hit by a 90 mph fastball. The guy is built like an NFL tight end and yet he is always limping or holding his eye. He reminds me of Kelso on That 70s Show whenever Kelso tries to fight Hyde He ends up yelping OWW MY EYE! That is Lebron imo. Grow a set would you? So we have Kobe up on the toughness category. Let's talk competitor. Kobe goes out of his way to challenge Lebron even though Lebron is bigger, faster, and stronger. That is what leaders do. He stepped up the challenge and forced Lebron into a very poor shooting game. Now Lebron guarded Kobe very well too, but when the Lakers put the Cavs down big in the fourth quarter it was Kobe over Lebron with those baseline jumpers that really stretched the game. So we have now seen Kobe accept the challenge of guarding DWade and Lebron and do a fantastic job over them both recently. The Lakers are second in terms of the best teams in the league, and I read on ESPN that Kobe isn't even First team all NBA? DWADE is the first half defensive MVP and Lebron is the first half MVP? Didn't we just settle this on the floor? Does what you do against Memphis count more than head to head battles? Isn't that all the hype we were getting for the big showdown. The Christmas game where the Lakers destroyed the Celts holding them to 83 pts, and then doing the same to the Cavs. What more do they have to do to prove that when they have to step up they will. Ok, ok I will buy into the argument of beating Orlando once! would be nice, but that wasn't really hyped up and circled on their calendars although it will be next time. That and the fact that I am pretty sure Phil's defensive rotations will be outside in because that team can really shoot it. They bother me in that they are a very very dangerous team because they can all shoot except Howard and he doesn't need to. If the argument was Dwight Howard for MVP or more so defensive MVP I would be ok with that because he does so much for that team and he rebounds and blocks shots so well and his team is winning. But Lebron and DWade? They are playing really well and their teams have improved alot since last year, but remember its not the best player award. Kobe proved that when he scored 35 a game a few years back. It is most valuable, and Kobe can do it passing (how many double digit assist games is he going to put up here) defensively, and offensively he can still light it up when he has too. But who knows MJ lost to Karl Malone so does it really matter?

This is going to be a ratings nightmare if there ever was one. I guess Pittsburgh is going to be better than Baltimore but what a mess for Super Bowl ratings. I guess Pittsburgh is getting a bye this year from the NFC. Is it possible for two teams to provide less drama? Pittsburgh is going to double team Larry Fitz every play because they are not ridiculous like the NFC's coaching staffs. We are going to get the joy of watching Edgerrin James run for 2 yds into the center of the line over and over again, and then on third and long Curt Warner gets to drop back and pass under duress. I would like to point out that Arizona is maybe the worst team to ever make the Super Bowl, and nice weather will help their cause, but they are going to have real problems with the Steeler's defense, but more importantly they are going to have real problems with the Steeler's offense which has been pretty good against some good defenses. All this being said I think Arizona is probably going to win because nothing makes sense anymore in the NFL anymore except the Cowboys have drama, Peyton is making another commercial, and Brett Favre is about two weeks away from crying and retiring again and then unretiring and actually thinking anyone cares about his washed up old ass that does nothing except throw important interceptions in big games.

3 yrs ago today- Championship Sunday taken over by Kobe posted on 01/22/2009
Three years ago today I was sitting in a poker room watching some football and then it started filtering in.  Kobe had 40 pts, well that's good are they winning?  No they are down and its early third quarter and I was like wow, but realize that Kobe had scored 56 in 3 quarters against Memphis a year earlier or so.  Then it was 50 and we are still not through with the third and we all started paying attention.  Then in the fourth quarter Kobe went into a gear that has never been seen and has not since.  Forget MJ, even forget Wilt (making 4 foot finger rolls over guys you are 4 inches taller than doesn't count) and simply sit back and wacth offensive greatness that not be surpassed for 30, 50, or even a 100 years.  MJ could never shoot this well so before this

Tough loss tonight posted on 01/14/2009
So that was a kick in the cajones tonight.  Has there been a pair of luckier shots back to back than those two by TD and Mason Jr.  Was it just me or is Fish getting tired.  I see that Kobe had to go play point and Ariza had to check Mr. Longoria at the end.  These extra minutes are really hurting Fish and we need to get healthy in a hurry because this schedule stretch that we are in is no picnic.  I think that we played very hard and should have won that game by all rights.
