The Heat is going to be one of the surprises of this season.

Last year the Heat was something painful to watch. I remember me and a few teammates went to watch the T-Wolves play them in Minneapolis (I know why not just ask someone to throw a cannon ball at my balls right?) because we wanted to go watch an NBA game, and that was the only game that month we could have made it too without missing practice or a game.

So Wade was coming back from an injury but Shaq was injured. The Heat made the T-Wolves look like an all star team that game. It was a fun game overall. The T-Wolves played some good team basketball, and I was probably drunk yelling stuff at Corey Brewer.

This year the Heat is looking way different than last year. Now I am also living in Florida, so I get to see them more often. Wade looks to be in the top of his game after the Olympics and brings the star power to the team. Haslem is playing center and thank God he is not the second option for scoring anymore, so he can go back to being a role player. Great trade for Marion last year to help out Wade. Marion fills every part of the stat sheet. They got Beasley with the number 2 pick in the draft. Beasley has unbelievable talent and he also has the swagger to be a star player in the league. He can score and rebound. At the point they have another rookie and one of my favorite players in the league already: Mario Chalmers. He can rebound the ball, he can penetrate and dish or score too if he has

We all have seen how impressive the L.A. Lakers have been at the start of this season. Fisher brings tough defense and good shooting, Kobe is simply the best player in the league and can score at will, Vlad Radmanovic seems to be taking his medications and his mind is stable now showing tenacious defense and his always unlimited range, Gasol is one of the smartest and most fundamental post players in the league and Bynum cleans up the boards and has a surprisingly nice 15 ft jumper.

Now we can add to that what I consider to be the best bench play in the league. Not just because of the names that come off the bench, but what really makes them good is how they can change the pace of the game. They keep the opposite team on their heels, once you think you are able to adjust to the lakers game. Farmar comes of the bench with Ariza, Sasha and now Odom to make it a crazy fast pace game. Farmar's game has taken a huge leap, and he could be a starter in many teams in the league. He can shoot, make plays and no one can catch him on the open floor. Sasha is a deadly shooter, Odom and Ariza can go to the rim and make plays. They pressure you on defense, they get steals and they run the floor.
